Wilgespruit is remembered by those who have been here as a place that transforms lives. We believe what makes this possible, and Wilgespruit such a powerful experience, is that fundamentally we are a community of practice.  As a community we aspire to ensuring that our daily acts of living are centred around working together, worshiping together and together witnessing to an alternative way of life.  Foundational to our relationships is Compassion, which is a value shared by all fatih traditions and espoused by all great faith leaders through history.

Wilgespruit has had a long history of witnessing to the "Churches role in response to social issues" and we believe that the issue of our day is leadership.  Our nation, our continent and our world is calling for a new generation of leaders who are able through their daily lives and relationships to transform the way we organise socially, politically and economically.  This can only be achieved by a concerted effort to lift up new ways of being in relationship with each other, new paradigms for solving the problems that our planet faces, and new ways of mentoring this generation.   

Wilgespruit therefore represents a unique opportunity to work with others on this challenge.  This may be through the simple act of using our Conference Facilities or engaging more fully in our Programme Activities.  We endeavour to create this unique social space through the way we manage our land as true stewards of creation and guided by our principles of Peace, Justice and Integrity of Creation.
